Cold Store Operative - Lates

Working in the Cold Store environment which runs at -20 Degrees Celsius

Role includes


·      Loading and unloading vehicles with Ride-on Pallet Trucks

·        Occasionally unloading containers with loose cases.

·        Locating and retrieving pallets into and out of the racking using a Reach Truck.

·        Case handling when re-working stock or picking orders.

·        Checking in receipted goods.

·        Complete picking and loading documents when picking and loading orders for despatch.

·        Using a Counterbalance Truck to unload, move pallets and using the clamp attachment to de-top cases off of pallets.

 

Teamwork;

·        Can do attitude - Lead by example and take a hands-on operational approach.

·        Ensure there is a close working relationship between members of the team within the department and site.

·        Be proactive in helping other departments find solution to problems.

 

Communication;

·        Maintain a high level of communication with your colleagues to ensure efficient team working when carrying out various tasks.


Customer Care

·        Achieve personal KPI’s

·        Ensure and maintain quality of the product.

·        Eliminate Non-conformances (Job right first time).


Responsibilities & Expertise

·        Constantly strive to increase operational performance.

·        Maintain a high level of accuracy

·        Good working knowledge of the routine and any machine operations.

·        Optimize efficiency whilst maintaining and improving standards.

·        Liaise with the Engineering on preventative maintenance and breakdowns to minimise the down time of equipment

·        Maintain a clean and safe working environment

·        Constant attention to safe working practices, your own as well as that of other team members.

·        Personally adhere to all prescribed working practices to ensure that the Cold Store operates to the highest of standards and efficiency possible.

·        Personally comply with all policies, procedures and risk assessments relevant to role and responsibilities.

·        Implement effective corrective actions to address any shortcomings.

 

Qualifications and Experience

·        Reach Truck Licence required.

·        Ride-On Truck Experience preferred.

·        Counterbalance Truck Experience preferred

·        Previous warehouse experience preferred.
